Crystal graduates with a business certificate

Crystal graduated last Friday from business school. She loved her school, her classmates, and her 2 teachers. The year was absolutely great! How many graduations are there where all the teachers hug all the students when handing out diplomas? I am so glad she had such wonderful women mentors.

She also sang a solo at the high school graduation. She sang for hundreds of people. She didn't graduate from high school, still has 1 more year to go. She sang a Kelly Clarkson song "Break Away." I am so happy she is doing so well.

Spring runoff 2008

After living in Grand Junction for going on 3 years now, I have been fascinated by the spring runoff of the Colorado River. There is a walk about 1/2 mile away from us we go on almost daily. For 9-10 months of the year, there is a peninsula we go on, but right now it is an island. There are 12 steps to get down to the peninsula (I know because I count the steps every time). This year the spring runoff is the highest it has been since 1993 (as the locals say). The peak was last Friday. It was up to only 3 steps showing (out of 12).

Bloggin and ramblin

After months of prodding by son, Andrew, daughter-in-law, Jenn (the grand matron of bloggers), and now my 2 "little" sisters in on it too, I begin. The kids got me a camera for a Christmas gift, so I can traveblog. For serious moments of retrospection, I continue with paper and pen in my hand, the old-fashioned way.
