Professor Creek

We hiked 4 miles up Professor Creek to a beautiful slot canyon and waterfall. This is a year-round creek and far from the madding crowds in Moab. The only picture I got of the waterfall is on video. Crystal was wearing my too small river sandals, and her feet were bleeding by the time we got back to the car. Her feet are still scabbed to this day, 2 weeks later!

Camping domestication

Our campsite near Canyonlands National Park.
Still as cute as ever.

Arches National Park in June

Arrived at Arches National Park woefully unprepared. By the time we got back to the car after our hike, I had hypothermia after hours in the wind, rain, and cold...in June!!!

We used garbage bags to keep us dry and supposedly warm. The bags were amazingly strong!
Can you see Landscape Arch in the distance?
It hailed, and it was not melting!

A nice German gentleman took this pic! It is amazing how most everyone we met seemed to be foreigners. We were stopped looking at a view, and some men (seemed like Eastern European) stopped right next to us to look at the view as well. We thought it was a little strange as there was tons of room to stand and view, but they wanted to stand right next to us. I figured they were from NYC or used to being around crowds, so they felt more comfortable standing next to us.

Sons contemplating.

The artist at work. Andrew shows incredible attention to detail and exhibits extreme patience while he waits for hours for just the perfect conditions, lighting, wind, etc. as he only gets one shot. I think I would rather spend time drawing a picture whereas he is capturing a moment in space and time.

There were cairns to mark the trail. Austin built a 3-towered cairn while waiting for Andrew.
