Smokey returns!

Smokey left on April 19. It is unknown where he is or what happened to him, but I sure miss him, having seen him almost every day for 8 years.

Smokey lived on a farm until he was 6 weeks old. He loved to play. He loved to get into any space he could, just to try it out. He loved to cuddle and hang out with the pack. Thanks for all the fun. Love you and miss you Smokey.

Update: Today, May 3, after 2 weeks, Smokey has returned, albeit about half the size he was. I wonder if he was stuck in a shed somewhere (as he is wont to do)? He is like the mythical phoenix, come back to life. Is this his 2nd life?

The Gunnison River

We did a lot of desert exploring this winter between Delta and our home in Orchard Mesa and saw lots of different perspectives of the snaking Gunnison River.
The footbridge is the one that follows a trail into Little Dominguez Canyon.

This railroad tunnel was built in the 1880s by a thousand men over one winter, an amazing feat, and the tunnel is still in use today.

Snowshoe shenanigans

I looked up and saw this aspen eye looking at me, and crying, wow!
My wonderful snowshoe companions, Chubs, Jasmine, and Buddy.

I wanted to capture how happy I felt. New yogitea saying today, "happiness is nothing but total relaxation."

Near and far

Dear Blog:

I have not been ignoring you, I have just been so busy with that other blog...

Time (and space) is relative.
